Weezer Blue Album Deluxe Release

Classic album from my teens. I was into Weezer long before they were popular, and even fell in love with Pinkerton. Too bad they haven't released a good album since.

The Green album was pretty good, they just fell off after that.

Yeah i know. Their blue album is one of my absolute favorites and it's certainly obtained a cult status. It took
me a while but I managed to find Pinkerton almost equally damn good. I survived on their bsides, enough to
make an album and a half actually that were great as well, but once the green album came out i kinda wised up
to the idea that perhaps it was just a fleeting genious.

the blue album rocks

so what's the deal? a remastered blue album, a b-sides disc, and a DVD all rolled into one? if so, sounds pretty good to me. the blue album is a classic (and has killer guitar tone!). pinkerton will always stand in my mind as river's masterpiece, but there's no doubt that the blue album is a close second.

The Blue Album was pure pop-rock perfected and honed to a shiney edge. Pinkerton, however, is a masterpiece, pure joy to listen to. It was Weezer on a far more honest level with less of the borrowing and pinching from their influences.

Their new material from the Green Album on seems like an attempt to recapture the spirit of their debut. Basically, they needed Matt Sharpe.

It's funny that River hates Pinkerton. He has said that he can't listen to it and won't play any of the songs at shows. I personally love Pinkerton as much if not more than Blue.

This is the best pop-music news i've heard in a while. What does that say about the industry when the only forthcoming record I am excited about will be one that I've listened to hundreds of times already?

It says that they are not appealing to you.

awesome! will be looking forward to it! i actually like all the albums *except* the green album.....it just seemed like all the songs sounded the same, but didn't have that freshness of the blue album. it seemed like it was too poppy for me, too. i dunno, maybe its just me. i do think the blue one is the best though....definitely on my top 5 list. and they do play stuff off of pinkerton at their shows....maybe they didn't at first, but the last couple i went to they played a few off of it. they gonna be touring again?
