Welcome to the weekly stats!

In the middle of last week, the TeAm entered another PrimeGrid challenge of course, in the GCW-LLR subproject. Since 9 hours after the start, we have been clinging onto 1st place the entire time. There are 3½ more days to go, will we finish in 1st too? The competitors are quite close.

When this one is over, it's soon time to start preparations for these November events:

11/16 - 11/23 (00:00 UTC) World Community Grid - 17th Birthday Challenge (7 days)
11/23 - 11/26 (05:00 UTC) PrimeGrid - Euler's Constant Challenge (GPUs: AP27, 3 days)​

Whew been a while since I've posted.. Thanks for the stats!

Are we dropping stats for RC5-72? I know MooWrapper is for the same project, but that interface doesn't report the same users (*shrug)

I think I'm going to take a break from RC5 anyway... I was going to keep going until they reached 10%, but I've noticed a significant decline in participants and overall block rates.
Last week's daily block completion was between 20-23 million, now its down to 14 million and its stayed there for quite some time.

Anyhow.. moving back to F@H

Are we dropping stats for RC5-72?

Free-DC did not update them since July 4. Same problem as with all other non-boinc projects (for the TeAm's weekly stats: Majestic-12 and Folding@Home).

I am working around this for Folding@Home, but not for RC5-72 or Majestic-12. Maybe I'll implement something for RC5-72 eventually. But first I need to automate F@h weekly stats generation some more.

Yes, sigs are still current. However, I'm getting a few rigs where one GPU is running quite a bit hotter than the other. Just watched one bounce between 87-90 C
That's one of the reasons why I stayed with RC5 so long.. their clients don't run the GPU's so hot. (*80-83 C is avg)
Thanking my lucky stars back in 2019 when I was able to get the 2080 Supers.. now you can't seem to find anything without paying a ridiculous amount.

Yeah, but with you closing the gap in Rosetta I'll have to reassign some resources soon to stop you from catching me there

Currently (at least on my rig), WCG tends to focus on MCM. According to my WCG stats, I also have a significantly lower overall output in points (compared to earlier this year). This got my curiosity started when I had the rig running again after the "summer break" and noticed it. Now, I finally found some time to look into my numbers...

With the values provided on the "My contribution" overview page, I performed a few quick calculations.

MCM: ~630.82 points per result
OpenPandemics: ~580.32 points per result
MIP: ~373.00 points per result

This actually looks good for MCM WUs. But there's also the runtime required to get to the result...

MCM: ~19,646s per result
OpenPandemics: ~12,514s per result
MIP: ~6,313s per result

Now, this looks completely different... Combining both groups of results:

MCM: ~0.032 points per s
OpenPandemics: ~0.046 points per s
MIP: ~0.059 points per s

Now, a rough overview of the WU distribution on my rig (earlier this year/now)...

MCM: ~35% / ~90%
OpenPandemics: ~50% / ~10%
MIP: ~15% / -

Then, overall points per s, according to the individual projects and their WU distribution (earlier this year/now):

~0.43 points per s / ~0.034 points per s

Although these results are of course just ballpark estimates (and don't factor in the execution width of the host), they illustrate nicely that the shift to MCM WUs for the given host leads to a lower overall output in points (because of the significantly higher ratio of WUs with a lower points per s value). Also, the completion of MIP cut off the supply on fast running and good scoring WUs, further amplifying the observed effect.

Of course, it doesn't really matter in the end, as every second of this rig's runtime gets into a medical project anyhow (I prefer to only run these), regardless of the WCG internal WU distribution/prioritization, but now my curiosity is also satisfied

I once read (don't remember where) that points are supposed to even out between the WCG subprojects — on average across all contributing hosts, that is.
But even on average, there is a discrepancy:

OPN1 ........ 326.05 p/h average over all results ever
ARP1 ......... 207.46 p/h
HST1 ......... 182.16 p/h
MCM1 ....... 193.23 p/h​

Though the OPN1 figure should be skewed by the GPU application performance by now, which is on another level compared to the traditional CPU-only application.
