If you don't have a job, get one. The potential to meet girls at work is HUGE, especially if you're at a computer lab/restaurant/etc.

Yea, and you may find friends at work too.

Call up someone you CAN hang out with, and just go walking around the neighborhood. Find a party that looks like fun, and you're set for the night. You might even get a couple new friends out of it.

honestly, everyone I met my freshman year aren't my type of people

Be more friendly, you aren't going to find someone that is 100% like you, that would be boring, did you dorm it? I met soooo many people in the dorm and people through them as well. But seriously if you have 1 or 2 people you can hang out with just get in the car at like 11pm and go to different college appartment complexes, you will find a party, just go in grab a beer talk with your friends for a bit then go meet people, probably what we are gonna end up doin tonight unless my boy comes through on this party.

yes i dormed my freshman year

I hung out with my roommate and couple others.

but my roommate was one year ahead of me so he had his own friends.... the other guys i haven't gotten in touch with.

what year are you btw?

Its my second year here, seriously start trying to get AIM SN's from people that you are friendly with, that way you can im them on a friday night ask about a party and its not as bad as calling them and being a tool. But you really should get in the car with a friend or two and go to a party and just start talking to people, seriously what is the worst thing that can happen? Someone who you have never seen before nor ever will again will tell you to piss off, I mean really, thats the worst thing that can happen, and its really not that bad (spoken from experience ha) You just get over it, not everyone is gonna be an a-hole.

you didn't join anything? Seriously...thats where I met most of my friends. Various organizations. A couple from my floor, but most from the clubs I belong to.

BTW, Ultimate frisbee players = hippies.

I suggest getting a part time job in a place where a lot of different types of people go -- a cool coffee shop, bookstore, maybe even Best Buy or something.

Or check out the student union or student commons... (I worked at the student union at UNR -- LOVED it, we had a blast all the time and met so many people). Take a book or a newspaper, find a place to plop down. Join a student group (academic, cooking, anything), most of those are comprised of people just like you.

IMO you don't usually meet real friends at clubs or bars. You meet the friends who your family adopts and you can count on to pick you up from the airport at 11 PM just doing normal stuff, boring stuff I guess.

I hope thinks start looking up for you, I know how you feel.

Sounds simaller to my senior year (which is this year) in High School for some strange reason, I hung out with seniors my junior year. I mean I spent the fridays night I didnt work with them, I do have friends just not nearly as much or as close as my senior friends. I really hate my senior year :( and I have 9 more months of it...

Fvck, I can't believe you sad tossers. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and go meet people. You're at a university - never in your life will you be surrounded with so many people who share a similar life.

I transfered schools my soph year and was in that same situation last year, and plan on being in it this year. Just find a job and a girl and that should take up most of your time.

I can drop these guys a line for you if you'd like. I'm a brother from a different chapter in another state, but I've had the interstate connection work for me before. Just let me know.
