Memory prices are going down.
I have one question only - why would a budget machine need 512 Mb Ram? Because that is what they say - for a budget machine.
Think further, you can get 256 DDR at newegg with heat spreader and PC-2700 for like $80. And more importantly you can use it in KT333 motherboards that are coming.
<< Hot deal!!! I was gonna order samsung pc2700 for 145. I saved $34! Great deal. Thanks >>
just remember this is 2100 ram that is know (it says so on their website) not to OC well. so you are comparing apples to oranges. and the price of $145 is because it is 2700ram
if your not an OCer or plan to get a KT333 chipset then this is the ram for you.

I shoulda phrased it better. I'm definately going to overclock, but I don't think the speed increase justifys the $30. According to Thugsrook's thread in OC forum, difference between 200ddr and 133ddr is less than 5% gaming wise. The Gigabyte 8srx can put ram at a slower speed than fsb if necessary. I certainly hope this ram could run 140-150mhz because that's probably aroudn what I'll get witha 1.6a. If not, that fine also. I'm just still in shock with the ram prices i guess. It went up so much since last summer. While i was researching in google aobut this ram, I came across a thread dated last august that had that same weekend 512mb basic pc2100 sale. Excepty it was for $55!:Q.
