I've mentioned on occasion that I'm building a large addition onto my home. Finallt got to working on the stairs this weekend: pics

Got tired of climbing the ladder, or bare risers to get to the second floor. It's going smoother then I expected and looks really good, but it'll still take some putty But about half the cost of contracting it out (~$2800)

this world needs more people that are willing to do it themselves... take some pressure off those money grubbing contractors

Are you going to cover them with something to keep them in good shape during the construction?

Going to stain & finish them as soon as they're done to protect against spills, etc. Will probably tack some cheap indoor/outdoor carpeting over that to protect from abrasion, dropped tools, etc.
