I've mentioned on occasion that I'm building a large addition onto my home. Finallt got to working on the stairs this weekend: pics

Got tired of climbing the ladder, or bare risers to get to the second floor. It's going smoother then I expected and looks really good, but it'll still take some putty 🙁 But about half the cost of contracting it out (~$2800)
 
this world needs more people that are willing to do it themselves... take some pressure off those money grubbing contractors 😛

Are you going to cover them with something to keep them in good shape during the construction?

Going to stain & finish them as soon as they're done to protect against spills, etc. Will probably tack some cheap indoor/outdoor carpeting over that to protect from abrasion, dropped tools, etc.
