Just closed Prime95... got the chip to crunch small FFT for its requisite 24 hours (23 hours 22 minutes anyway) without a hiccup. At first this chip looked like a good candidate for 2.7, well, it isn't... still runs better than my original 3200+ anyway.

So here's where it passed its Prime test: 289x9 = 2601 MHz, 1.61v. Other variables isolated - RAM set to 2.5-4-4-8 1T @ 144 (50% divider), HTT set to 2x. That VCore is pretty much the outer limit of my comfort zone - 15% over stock - but the chip actually stayed quite cool. 40º C core temp under load with case temp running 25-26º C under an ambient room temp of 24º C according to Everest and a digital thermometer. CPU idles at 32º C under these conditions. These temps make me feel more comfortable about the voltage I'm running, but I'm all done now with trying to squeeze any more MHz out of this chip... it won't be worth it beyond this point.

Next up - some more memtest runs. I already know the RAM is good for 2.5-3-3-7 @ 260 on 2.8, I'm going to bump it up to 2.85, the board's max, and see if it's possible to turn either of those 3s into 2s at that speed though I doubt it. Probably some 1:1 testing after that, and some low latency testing. Then, bring it all together... and hope nothing goes kerplooey...

But first, I think I'm gonna play some Half-Life 2 😛 too much time testing this rig... not enough enjoying it.

Here it is, anyway -
