Who knew that modding could be so much fun ( rhetorical question ).

I'll be posting pics and links when I go to work monday and finish this puppy up.

Okay, I have had my Biostar 6100-M9 for some time now ( after I fried my Tforce 6100-M9 ) and just 2 weeks ago I decided to start looking into a vmod for the vdimm so my OCZ Gold VX PC3200 could shine. And what I found on the way was more than I hoped for.

For starters I noticed that I had an easy out for the Vdimm in that the board had a provision for the same 3.3v Vdimm jumper found on the Tforce 6100-M9 ( Located just above the ATX power plug ). So I tested it with some wire and it worked : ) 3.28v ( PSU limited ) . So the next step was to proffesionallise the mod by soldering in a jumper. I decided to keep things clean and easy and just went for a 2 pin jumper ( the 2 left pins and not the one nearest the mobo edge ). Needless to say this mod is working perfectly as you can see in my sig :)

Then this week I got bored and started to wonder what other hidden treasures Biostar left for me. Thats when I noticed 2 spots where there should be 3 pin fan headers ( Naughty Biostar only gave this poor mobo 2 active and 2 dormant ). So, I went ahead and fixxed the obvious mistake Biostar made and soldered in 2x 3 pin fan headers I removed from a dead mobo :) Now my sexxier 6100-M9 has 4x 3 pin fan headers and all work :)

( To Be Continued when I find more hidden treasures )
