Got my nice new Epox 8KTA3 and plopped my Tbird 700 and Globalwin FOP32-1 on it, and so far I've reached 910mhz, with 6.5x140. I'm pretty sure my RAM is holding me back from higher fsb speeds, but it might be my very early TBird. How's this for a shock: my TBird 700 was unlocked! I never bothered looking before because I had a Gigabyte GA7ZX board that didn't support multiplier oc'ing, but when I was ready to begin the infamous "pencil trick", I looked a little closer and realized the L1 bridges were already connected! Thanks everybody for all the information and knowledge I've leeched off of this forum.

Yeah, I'd love to hit 1ghz, or get near it, but I don't know. I figure I can get the FSB up to 145 and maybe 150 if I'm lucky when I get new RAM. That's only 975 though. I don't think I'll be able to up the multiplier any more, because I already have the voltage cranked up to 1.85, the highest the Epox supports. I don't think it's heat-related, because it runs stable right around 40 - 43 degrees C (as reported by mobo), but when I was trying other combos, I never saw it go above 45. Any thoughts as to what might be holding me back? I know RAM for sure, and I'm beginning to think maybe my early TBird. Any way to know the week without physically looking at the CPU (not eager to remount that heatsink)?

Also, I have just a 250W PSU. Is this enough, or do I need more power to feed that hungry TBird? I also have a Geforce2 GTS, a CDRom, a CD Burner, SB Live. Is that too much for the power supply?

I read somewhere that 1.0GHz T-bird draws 40-50 Watts of power. If you've got a lot of other hardware going (multiple hard drives, cd-roms, etc.) then you might want to up your power supply to at least a 300 Watt.
