Never seen or heard of this. This is a thing at bars in the United States of America?

KT

Never seen it at a bar, but yeah it's a thing.

These people had way worse problems than using marijuana. I highly doubt the drug itself drove them to do either one of these things, but you know... change!! Let's blame it on something that's changed!

Yea, these guys obviously have way worse problems than having some THC in their system.

Everything is going to be connected to marijuana if it can be, though. That doesn't mean that MJ is responsible, or that they are going to ignore the true underlying causes; it's just how they investigate everything to justify some otherwise useless people having a job, coupled with media sensationalism.

If you went and read a story about someone that had a single beer 8 hours before getting into an accident, the story would probably say that the person was drinking before the accident.

An autopsy report listed marijuana intoxication as a "significant contributing factor" in the death.

but the PCP was insignificant,right?

Where did the article mention PCP, I didn't see it. I've eaten pot brownies and it does take awhile to start to take effect but it kicks ass when it does so, even given that I've never contemplated jumping out a 4th story window LOL and I'm sure that alcohol causes these types of stupid actions on a regular basis..

It's silly to even talk about overdosing and different drugs in this context. Show me an ME's report that states the subject expired due to toxic levels of a substance present in marijuana. That's more or less the definition of an overdose. Getting messed up and killing yourself is not. As far as I know there has never been a case of death directly due to marijuana toxicity... unlike alcohol, acetone, and aspirin, for example.

Woah, you people need to step back and look at what happened here. Because of the overdoses of weed in their system, two people (so far) are no longer with us.

I think its time to start clamping down on this before it gets out of hand.

:\

clamp down on what, stupidity? Because it's not weed's fault.

I'm glad nobody is talking about the PCP here because daddy needs his medicine to make it through the day. Now pardon me while I chase these cops around butt ass naked.

I actually watched a giant black dude the size of The Rock parade around in his stained tighty whities trying to break into a car, filled with people, that was waiting at a stop light, in front of the St. Louis PD HQ. Didn't last long before two even bigger, badder black cops came out and beat the dude down. Like, pistol whipped the dude until he was crying like a toddler. Then each cop grabbed an ankle and dragged the guy across the intersection to the PD.

edit: PCP.

Why can't they just have legalized normal, smokeable weed? We don't need to legalize weed juice concentrate...

I can buy Everclear, drink it straight, and descend into oblivion anytime I want, so... what's the objection to weed... um... juice?

You know what you are getting with pure alcohol. There is no question, the FDA regulates it and the contents are listed on the bottle.

If you go buy a pot brownie, who knows what the fuck is in there. They may have just bought some chinese THC chemical copy extract (like the same shit in K2) and then put it in the brownie, calling it a "pot brownie"

This situation simply calls for similiar measures imposed on alcohol. Don't make the product illegal, regulate it so that the consumer can make an accurate, informed decision.

I can drink bleach, but due to regulations and labels, I'm able to make an informed decision not to.

Absolutely true. But I think that is an argument for regulation, not prohibition.

Edit: yeah, what TechBoyJK said.

That statement is truer than you know. Legalized weed made available the edible variety, which is LOADED with THC, the active ingredient of weed. This is what led to these deaths.

Had it been illegal, these people would still be alive. :'(

More people die from Alcohol related deaths a year.

Are you for making Alcohol illegal as well?

It's not really the pot that's dangerous IMHO but what they sell in Colorado is $30/gram and is very, very strong high THC% weed, I don't think it would make one crazy as in jump out a window but it WILL have an effect on driving ability, maybe not as bad as being drunk but there is still a definite possibility where if your stoned as a bejesus you could easily run right through a red light or not notice someone in front of you on the brakes..

by the way, that bullshit article is the type of FUD that led to historical bans on absinth in very many countries, many of which still exist for no discernible reason.

An old swiss buddy of mine related the story of the ban in Switzerland, some decades ago, to a growing teetotatler movement, which would never fly because of the wine production. But everyone wanted to blame something vile, so they picked absinth and focused on that. One night, some farmer after having downed a bottle of whisky, several beers, and a shot of absinth, went on a rampage and murdered his family with an axe.

It was the shot of absinth that made him mad! BAN!

Now, that could be the rantings of an old retired swiss man, and probably a similar story exists in every country, but what is very true is that there is nothing psychotropic or inherently unique about absinthe, besides its traditionally high proof compared to other universally-tolerated high proof alcohols, that makes people loony toons.

People always want a scapegoat:
drugs/alcohol for all the evils in the world, or to deny the fun from others that shut-ins will never experience. :(
religion to explain why your shitty life is shitty, and to delude you into being happy with your shitty life. :(

If cigarettes had been illegal my dad would be still alive.

If cars were illegal my nephew would still be alive

If Nuclear bombs were illegal hundreds of thousands of japanese would still be alive

If war were illegal millions upon millions of people would still be alive.

Go find a cause that that actually matters.

MF impairs judgement. He didn't understand the gravity of the situation.
