Weed and Feed

We now have a small lot to take care of, so I'm going to pamper it. Decided to try out some Weed and Feed. I followed the directions... cut the lawn a few days ago, and it rained earlier today so it's semi wet. Apparently this flaky stuff in the mixture sticks to the broad leaves and contains the poison that kills the weeds.

Anyone else use Weed&Feed? How well does it work? There is this one patch of lawn that is 95% weeds. I also spread out a mixture of kentucky blue grass and perennial ryegrass seed prior to mowing.

EDIT: So sorry, i dont know about Weed&Feed

Don't mow the lawn too short. It shocks the grass, takes longer to recover, while the weeds can out grow it. When trying to get rid of weeds set the lawnmower to height 4, then when the grass starts getting thick and growing too fast, ease back to height 3. I've seen people cut at short as possible just so they don't have to mow as often but it really hurts the grass.
