What really pisses me off is that there is one neighbor on our street who uses a car alarm, and it is sensitive to vibration. It goes off if someone rolls by with their subwoofer at 11.

It's gone off several times this evening from the thunder. FFS just turn it off! This is not car-stealing weather, and when you're the only person on the block with a car alarm, you don't need it.

I don't think my wife would ever yell to me "one just touched down 2 miles away" - She knows I'd be in the car heading down the road to see it. Last time we had a warning & a storm track, I ended up directly in the path of where it was supposed to go through (within a mile) - it dissipated before I ever got to see it :(

Yeah - if a tornado had touched down near me, I'd be very tempted to stand at the window looking for it.

Heh, I'm in Arlington Heights. Left the office in Northbrook at about 8 and drove right into that sucker! It was a really nasty looking storm too. Not too much happened here except for some mild flooding and heavy winds.
