Wedding Gifts: What to do with the bad ones

So of course we ended up with a few gifts from people that we either don't want, need or like, but some things were not on our registry and we have no clue where these people bought them. What's the best way to get rid of gifts you don't want but can't "legally" return anywhere? Things like...

A stupid lamp with stained glass shade with flowers (looks like an old lady might like it)
A few pot holders
Random glass bowl with fruit etchings on it
Glassware obviously from the 1980s and regifted (too old to return)

Any ideas?

I swear I got more glass bowls when I got married that anything else, save possibly candles. Glass bowls are the new toaster.

Other family members, friends, coworkers, Ebay, Craigslist, Goodwill, etc.

I'm sure someone out there can use the stuff. If any of it is stuff that an incoming freshman could use, then give it to them since college is starting up soon.

Just a few thoughts...

yeah we got some really crappy stuff. my wife's grandmother got her a really ugly vase set. we sold them in a garage sale a few years latter for $5. last time the grandmother was over she asked why we didnt put them out.

i didnt have the heart to tell her it was because it was ugly. heh


edit: oh yeah forgot to say what you can do with the crappy gifts. return them to walmart. target whatever. they will take them back if you tell them its for a wedding gift so you do not have the reciept.

regift as long as you don't give them back to the prior owner.

BTW we also got a random glass bowl but since the giver had converted from Hindu to a Jehovah's Witness we also got a Watchtower Bible. 😀

My sister once got a purse with no tags or antyhing on it.. and get this.. it came with a used lipstick inside it for her birthday... That has to be the worst gift ever.
