DISCLAIMER: I'm unsure whether this should be here in OT or in the Relationships forum. I was originally going to put it there but it seems like the point of that is more to house the Dating/Breakup/Sex topics while this is more financial to me. If the mods deem it needs to be moved, my apologies.

My fiance are less than a year out from our wedding and I think we should be planning a little faster so I'm starting our search for a wedding DJ. I was hoping that some of you could bestow some of your wisdom on me.

My main question is this: Does the quality of DJ performance increase proportionally with their cost? We were given a quote from a company (SilverSound out of Philadelphia, PA) which gave us three prices for three different DJs - $800, $1000, $1300. I tried looking at the reviews for each of them but of course on their websites all their scores are 100%.

If anyone has any advice or even direct recommendations for a southeastern PA wedding, I'd be grateful for any information you can provide.

i found in my searching that price did equal quality.
check out theknot.com. they have local boards and very often gals will give very indepth reviews of DJ's they have used.

Ours was about $1300 for the night and he was very good.
This is one of the places i would not skimp. He is the one that will determine the flow of the entire evening. You want someone who will mesh well with yours and wifes personalities.

Also, best thing we could have done is worked out a DO NOT PLAY list. no matter what people requested we did not want the chicken dance, macarana, YMCA, etc.
