Should I melt the 2 wedding bands that I have into 1 band?

I got the two as I did'nt have time to custom make one that would fit around my "rose" cut diamond engagement ring. But now I'm thinking I'd like to have 1 band.

would two small rings plus a piece I have from my engagement ring, due to sizing, be enough to make one ring?
