I used to hate paid fighting .. but when you see the respect and camaraderie they have for each other it is amazing...

The WEC has the best cards with these light and bantamweights. These fights are always exciting and the fighters always have a full gas tank every round and bring it. This has been a great chess match in every round, the transitions and reversals have been outstanding by both fighters.

This was a good fight, but I don't think it was the best of the year. I can appreciate the ground game, but the fans pay for blood and want to see two guys stand toe-to-toe and bang it out. That being said, my favorites this year were Torres v Mizugaki or Wand v Franklin (wand fan).

But we've still got a few fights left in '09!

The whole card was awesome. The fight was one of the best of the year, but I'd still say Couture vs. Nogueira is fight of the year.
