Like 478/754 socket CPU's, older ram, mobos, etc to upgrade old computers.
Geeks.com usually has some old stuff. Is there anywhere else?

Check locally in your community if you are in a city. We have a store called "Computer Rennaissance" which buys and sells used hardware.

I generally visit the first two 'geeks' sites listed in this thread as well as the local PC flea markets, but I've noticed that socket A materials have essentially dried up. I was thrilled to find the legendary ASUS A7N8X deluxe at 3B Tech for $50 (and apparently free shipping). No indication, however, if it's rev 2.0, heh.

Anyone shopped at 3B Tech before?

Check with your local auction companies. They often have auctions for things like the school board or storage bins.
I went to one and picked up a pallet of ethernet switches, isp grade type stuff, for $20. There was 15 or so switches.
Also picked up a whole pallet of imacs. The older ones that came in all the colors. 20 of them for $90.

Storage bin sales are great too. You walk around the place and they cut the lock off the door and open it and start selling. Nobody knows what is in there till they open the door !

You can use this site to find auctions.

I've used both 3Btech and StarMicro several times with no complaints. I'm not sure what to make of the negative ratings for StarMicro, except that a number of them seem to be complaints that StarMicro actually isn't shipping brand new processors that haven't been manufactured for two years, but rather system pulls or used processors. Hello!

The older boards at 3Btech are bulk or OEM, often refurbished.
