to read lists. They are the worst and should be banned by an adblock type plug-in.

That is all.

I freaking hate those. The worse are the ones that make you do it for literally one sentence at a time. WTF is that shit? I usually give up after about 2 clicks.

Web design in general is a huge mess these days. It's ridiculous.

Oddly I find the worse of the worse is always linked from Facebook. I pretty much learned to not click any external links off FB as it is more than likely going to be one of those sites.

If it's a video I sometimes go to it to see the video (typically a youtube video) then immediately click the icon to go straight to youtube then close the tab of the crappy site before some stupid crap pops up at me. Though some of these are tricky, if you try to close the tab, it will actually close the youtube link you just opened.

What I despise the most is that everyone and their uncle it seems uses their own player. Why can't they just HTML5 their vids and be done with it! I do this on my own site and I pay very little FFS.

I keep hearing about infinity scroll, what is that, is that like the facebook time line, where the scrolling is all js based? If yes, I HATE that too. it also tends to be really choppy and stuff depending on the system, it seems to vary a lot. I've went through a lot of distros just trying different ones, in some installs it's fine, in others it's choppy as hell. Stop overusing JS and stick to plain html when plain html can accomplish the same task!

Those suck, but you can almost always avoid them even without an ad blocker type of code. Just don't click on anything with a number in the link. "#7 will shock you" means that you must click through 7 pages of ads to see something that is not shocking.

My local newspaper did this with their candidate endorsements this year. Ad income > influence.

If I stumble upon a slideshow, I bail before clicking anything.

Arent they just click bait's for the ads? There is probably some lazy clever jerk making a fortune off this technique. He likely shares a house with the IRS scammers who have really short tempers when you call them on their bs.

No website can make me click through anything. If I see a click through list I leave. What's the problem?

The problem is that I really want to know why #7 is going to blow my mind. If I just bail I will never find out.

A couple times I'll go through it, mainly because it has a bunch of historical photos and that stuff is interesting. but most of the time it's close the window as soon as I realize what it is.

What's life without a little mystery? If you're managed to survive this long without knowing #7 on the list of 23 things woman do that men don't understand maybe it's not all that important.

How about the "videos" that tell some inspiring story with text. Each sentence is on the screen for ten seconds and you are apoplectic before you even know what the inspriational thing you just bailed on was about...
