website visitor counts

what's the best program to use to track the number of visitors that hit my website? i know there are tons out there but i'd like to hear from those who have had good experience.

I just use the stats in my web control panel. Works fine for me.

It depends on what your webhost is. It's normally on your web host's administration page though. 🙂

i have free webhosting so it doesn't come with anything that snazzy...

There are free counters out there that you can throw at the bottom of your page.

A quick google search showed

http://freelogs.com/
http://www.statcounter.com/
http://www.amazingcounters.com/

etc. Most of the free pages use something like those. This is probably what you were looking for in the first place. 🙂

I have used freelogs in the past. But that was at least a year or two ago but i had no problems with them then.
