Website to see web traffic of an external site?

My wife's boss has asked to look for a new host but has no idea how much traffic his site gets. Whats a site that I plug his url in for a good estimate of hits. I know one exists but cant remember.

Alexa, assuming the site gets a fairly large amount of traffic. Alexa numbers are horribly imprecise.

He could just install the free Google Analytics bit of Javascript, and get a real count.

Not big enough to be recognized by either, so I think that they are not moving much data. Thanks for responding. Analytics doesn't work because that's not what I asked for.

Keep in mind all these are only effective for US-targeted sites.

Did you check with the current host, they usually have the data available.

if your wifes boss doesn't know how much traffic the site is getting, the site is likely not getting any traffic

analytics will tell you exactly the hits.

The provider should be able to provide this too.

Sounds like they got the wrong guy working on this project.
