Given the current exchange rate (I need to check what rate my bank will actually give me). Things on US sites (like Newegg) seem very cheap compared to UK ones. Unfortunately none of them seem to ship to the UK.

Does anyone know of any that do.

I am building a whole new rig but currently I am mainly looking to buy a Geforce 6800 Ultra so it would be nice to find one that has these in stock as well.

eg on price Aopen Geforce 6800 Ultra

dabs.com - 335.99 GBP = 616.736 USD (using xe.com)
Ajump.com- 545 USD

Thats over $70! grrrrrrr!

Now factor in worse exchange rate and shipping, the difference will be $20 or something, add in risk of being charged taxes, and the hassle and extra long delivery time. You don't save much.

as soon as you package arrives in the UK you'll be charged duty on anything valued over £18.
savings then if any afterwards will be minimal plus you'll have no warranty.

Didn't think about the Tax, it's looking like it's not worth while now. Looks like I will just see what the best uk price i can get is.
Damn rip off Britain!

I hear plenty good things about there too. And bad. can say the same for every place I've heard of.

I've never actually had to return anything myself, which is usually where the problems start, only had "good" and "ok i suppose" experiences *touches strange desk material thats pretending to be wood, before settling for paper*.

I hate ripoff britain. Biggest pisstake was people going to buy cars in holland, because - including the weekend holiday break etc - it was often over £1000 cheaper to buy cars there. including cars made in britain. iirc the ipod is has the same price in uk as us... oops i mean the same digits, its the $ and £ that changes, as it is with most computer stuff. [/rant]

er anyway, try komplett.co.uk ; ebuyer.co.uk - usually cheap places. if you want a big list of places send a pm

Thanks for the suggested sites, the've been added to my bookmarks.
For anyone else reading who is looking a couple of others are:
http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk - I know PC world's service is crap but they have a few good deals
and http://www.dabs.com.

Next decision do I place an order with one of the sites that has stock of a 6800 Ultra, or do i wait until I get a chance to go to a computer fair, never been to one before but wonder if I can get a better deal at one. Although if the websites are having trouble getting stock. I wonder if there would be any available at the fair.
