he says

Based on our previous discussions of increasing your client base through olivebranchcounseling.org and the internet in general, I think you would benefit greatly from having us upgrade your existing website to the Wordpress platform.

It will make previously-discussed website improvements far easier to implement.

You will be able to edit and add content in house.

If you need us to do something to the site, it will cost less to have the work done.

New features and plug-ins are being developed for Wordpress worldwide as we speak. You will be able to take advantage of them for a low cost. Typically, even the best plugins are less than, say, $60.

And if you ever decide to take your business elsewhere, your new vendor should be able to pick up right where we left off.

There are a few more details on the estimate itself.

in the PDF

Upgrade olivebranchcouseling.org to Wordpress
Benefits:
It will be far easier/less costly to...
1) Edit and add content in-house.
2) Have us add features like news blogs, forms, and more
3) Implement tracking
4) Add social sharing tools
Also, this change will allow repeating elements like your header,
navigation, and staff column to be changed with a single edit.
For instance, if you want to add a staff memeber to the current site,
we have to update at least 13 files. It takes about an hour.
With this upgrade, you could probably make the change yourself
in ten minutes or less.
...and your site will look just as good as it does now.
WEB Add existing site content to the Wordpress CMS

some of the stuff he was telling me is that right now if we want to change content and its across multiple pages we have to edit each page individually where as the new site would be one change across the whole site

say I wanted to update a bio. It would update the bio on every page its listed not just the one and etc.

Let me ask you this: Do you make frequent changes to this web site? It doesn't look like you do. I wouldn't suggest a full migration to a CMS (Content Management System) like Wordpress - or Drupal which I'm more familiar with - unless you'll be updating part of the site daily or weekly. And if it's only part of the site you might want to only migrate that part to the CMS.

I suggest you ask your new web designer how hard it would be to add server-side includes for the repeating elements discussed. Hint: It shouldn't be hard - think 1/10th the cost of a full Wordpress migration at most. This would allow changing the repeating elements across multiple pages with a single edit. This would not allow you to "easily" make changes to the site: You or your web designer would have to edit HTML files to make changes. But one edit would affect all pages at once.

If you want to do a full site redesign, then migration to a CMS at the same time might make more sense.

The point made sure are valid. It will be much easier to maintain on a CMS. I guess that is the main point the developer made the suggestion. he will bill you 20% less for work while doing 80% less. On the other hand you can add and edit content yourself.

On the other hand "replacing same content in multiple files" is a non-issue with any text editor other than windows notepad, eg. you can replace a certain text in all files of a directory (and sub-directories) as example.

well Im going to leave it as is. maybe if we ever become a million dollar business ill fork over the 3k. We are a small non profit so that $ just isnt there.

Is that a good price to move a site like that though?

A small downside to moving to WordPress would be having to keep your version of the CMS up to date to avoid security vulnerabilities. Third party plugins even more so.

One thing I noticed on your site is a lot of your text is embedded within images: page headings, section headings, navigation links etc etc. The problem with that is there are less keywords on your site for search engines to see, which in turn contributes to your SEO and ranking on the search engines.
