I don't know if this exactly fits into the P&N category, but what the hell. If the mods want me to move it, I will.

I am sick of partial quotes in news articles. I want entire transcripts. I want to be able to CTRL+F that baby and find exactly what I want in its entire line.

I was just watching CNN and the coverage of the Pope's address to the UN. There was a great quote about human rights and such I wanted. I googled it and found a few sites with bits and pieces of the quote.

I don't want reporting. I don't need your interjections. Just give me the quote. It was all broken up and spliced and irritating.

Just like the Obama thing with the bitterness. I can not find the whole speech. Just the line. The line with no context.

Does anyone know a good site that can supply me with whole speeches. The news orgs. have to get them from somewhere... I want that access.

Thanks.

This has been one of my largest pet peeves with journalism as a whole, they comment on something you cannot easily read for yourself. Google is usaully a friend, but even then the dominant results will always be people telling you what to think of it instead of the it itself.

I'm not aware of any site that collects links to speech transcripts so that you have a single clearinghouse though.

I figured it would be pretty findable. But the single clearinghouse is exactly what I am looking for. There has to be someone doing it. I am not that original.
