Please let me know what you think about my website AmatoTech.com. I've been doing consulting as a side job for almost two years or so now but just recently started seriously working on my website. I'm looking to pick up more clients from a little online advertising and different local advertising sources.

I'm mainly looking for tips and criticism on the content of the site and help with SEO, but if you have any layout tips or criticism I'd like to hear that also.

Thanks!

EDIT:
PS. If anyone has a website that is technology or small business based and would like to exchange links I may be interested if I feel your website could benefit me, and mine yours.

I like the clean look. My only suggestions would be:
-- Slightly larger font would be easier to read
-- Some sort of visual feedback when the mouse hovers the top menu links
-- The site slogan, "your puget sound computer & network consultant" should be properly capitalised

Other than those minor things I like it.

Thanks! I'm going to increase font size, I've had that comment a couple times. I'm also going to add rollovers for the menu. The slogan is like that because of the css. The search engines will show it in caps. I'm gonna see what other people think, I was debating the caps there.

Thanks for the review, I appreciate it :)

The simplicity is nice but frankly the site is pretty bland looking. Give me a nice header image or some pictures or anything to spice up the page. I definitly agree with the previous advice of a bigger font and some sort of hover over action for the menu items.

I like the really clean simple look. Colors are easy on the eyes. I myself prefer small type for reading, but I can see others liking it larger. I wouldn't mind seeing the company name in a different font to make it "pop" a little on the page though.

Yup.

That color blue and orange go well together for pop. I would also think about making the heading titles the same, or close, orange.

Otherwise its nice and clean, glad you stayed away from the 2.0 glossy crap.

Or how about some animated GIFs and flashing banner ads? Come on man, that shit belongs in 1999. Clean is the way to go these days.

Clean doesn't have to mean boring though. Look at google, they have a page that is minimalist and clean but they realize people need some sort of graphic to give the site some life; so they have their logo with alternating art for major holidays etc.

Looking at the OP's site in the current form I have no image or logo to associate with and brand the site. You obviously don't want flashy animated banners and gifs. All I would suggest is a single logo or image in the top right hand corner next to the title.

I don't think I'm going to add a header image. I am going to add relevant small images to the services description.

I'll play around with different colours to see if anything will look good.

I really like some of the web 2.0 look, but I didn't want it for my site. I wanted a website where people could find information quickly, have it load quickly, easy to read, and search engine friendly.

Great start.

Go through and check for typo's. For instance it says "your puget...." under your title. I think you ment "your budget..."

under clients I would add their logo or small picture of establishment to make it look more professional.

It's a bit wordy. Write as if the people who looks at your page will only spend a few second on it. make it catchy and easy to "scan" to see what the page is talking about.

Add a picture something to this effect http://www.buycheapsoftware.co...ages/customer_logo.jpg but of course make the picture make sense with your content

and make other changes so it doesn't look like a standard template from wordpress etc...

"Puget Sound" is an area in Washington state, includes a huge portion of 2 counties. I check many times for typos but there could be a few a missed. I'm going to go through again and put each page in word to be sure. (unless someone can point me to a firefox plugin that checks page content for me?)

I'm going to change the clients page. I just received a few more testimonials from clients so I'm going to take away the company profiles I have and put those in there instead.

Thanks for the review!

I think it looks pretty good. You can always go for the hyper-professional, overly generic girl-with-a-headset look, but frankly for a small consulting firm I almost like this better.

Small typo on the first page: "The goal of this website is to provide more information", and on the D-Series description: "mutilmedia".

I like the detailed services page, but on low-res monitors the updated content appears below the bottom of the first screen, which might confuse less tech-savvy users when they click on a link and it looks like nothing's changed.

Also, this may just be me, but it drives me crazy whenever I don't see prices. Even if it's just a ballpark, I like to see something.

I don't mind the lowercase in the banner, it seems stylistic to me, but others may obviously disagree.

In general, you actually describe what you do, which already puts you leaps and bounds above most "consulting" web sites I've seen.
