Website Email Help...

Ok. Whenever I use the email that my host gave me (lehost.net), and email someone or myself (my own priv gmail acct), I don't recieve the email. For certain email addresses, it sends. For some, it is blocked, or the clients say they did not recieve it.

cPanel --> Webmail --> Horde, Compose and I'm 100% sure I typed out the address right...

I just don't recieve the emails and neither do some of the people I email...

Should I just resort to using Gmail instead of the email account my host gave me?

If so, do you need to enable SSL protection in the e-mail client? (ex; Outlook).

Some of the people I email can't get the emails, and the support for my hosting said they have to enable SSL on their email client.

But, there are too many people now and I'm not sure if I should tell all of them to enable SSL, or use a different email like Gmail.

THat doesn't sound right... can you elaborate?

That doesn't sound right to me, if they're getting email from others then why would they have to change a setting to get email from you? 😕

There's a clue that your host isn't very knowledgable.

It maybe that the server used for your email has been blocked by spamcop.

This is the error I'm getting...

Realization dawns like the morning sun 😀

I just logged on to cPanel and clicked on Webmail, Horde, and emailed my private gmail account with the correct email address, and it's been around 4 minutes and no mail yet.

I've also checked the spam boxes...

Should I just try and use Gmail instead of the email that the host has given me? Is it normal for sites to do this? Or should I try doing an email forward to my Gmail acct?

You could use G-mail to send out mail... but then it won't appear as though it came from you site.

Just so I understand this... what mail client are you currently using to send mail?

Are you using some mail client actually on your server? Or are you using Outlook or somesuch, using your server as the default mail server?

I never understand why people relentlessly bug other people without just calling support.

2/3 of the dumb questions I get asked could've been answered quicker and more simply by just calling those 1-800 #'s...

Yes, I have contacted support. They have a guy that's on AIM 24 hours a day so you could ask him questions, and so far the problem hasn't been solved. I've talked with him about several different methods and he said that most sites do use the SSL protection thing.

I also filed a support ticket and within around 20 minutes it was answered, however there was no solution to the problem.

I'm using:

-Outlook
-NeoMail
-SquirrelMail

I can take a look at it if you want (send me an IM - DeviousTrap), but this is really something you should get sorted out with your hosting company. If they can't assist you with the issue and provide you step by step instructions on how to fix it, something is wrong. I don't see what SSL can have to do with receiving incoming emails.
