Website critique please

I brought this up a while back as it was a $4000 charge for a website
being built for a friend of mine.

It is finally up:

Please give me ALL feedback on it based on the following:

basic design charge $4000
wants an additional
$2600 to do the events page
wants $1600 month to do updates to the events page every month.

WTF??!!??

Nice work, but sorry way overpriced.

Frankly, I would expect something like the following:
basic design charge $1500
wants an additional
$750 to do the events page
wants $500 month to do updates to the events page every month.

After some more thinking, there isn't much there. Just a few pictures and links over them. I would even say it could be done for $800 on the design, $400 on the events, and a couple hundred monthly. I don't see anything very special on that events page to charge extra. Its just some extra pictures, that open in what seems to be a iframe.

It's slick, but the price to keep it updated seems high. If he's any good (his designs are good, but being good is a bit different ), it shouldn't take him more than a couple of minutes to update. I'll do it for her.

Good looking site........ I think the categories at the bottom could be more eye catching though...... a bit dark for my tastes

On first glance I thought all there was on the site was a picture of a truck. The whole thing needs to be shrunk down a bit or the navigation needs to be in a traditional location along the top. The navigation itself is not distint and tends to blend into the website, this is a problem because lesser web savvy users will miss the navigation.

Personally for the quality and the above mentioned reasons I feel your are getting screwed.

Edit: Oh and if those girls wear any thing less I would have to put a 18 and over warning/disclaimer....

Part of a good webmaster and designer is being able to watch out for your clients business image. This website designer does not do this and it is very obvious he is watching his own pocket book not what he is putting on the site.
