Website counters and "site stats"

Hello 🙂

Is it possible to prevent a site from tracking you? I know lots of websites have the abilty to get your IP address. Is there a way I go to a site with a tracking counter, etc. and not be tracked? I tried a firewall but that doesnt seem to work as you must allow your brower to browse!! TIA!

Well, the usuall way they work is have a script that makes an image and counts the visits. So if you don't load the image.... As for IP addresses, how would the website send you things if it didn't know your IP ?

Are you talking about tracking cookies that track where you go after you leave a site?
