Website counter

I have a website at

http://www.e-rice.net/

And I need a counter.

I currently have a static account but I can easily upgrade to standard if needed. I am very well versed in perl but the website only runs PHP which I'm very rusty at. At this point I'd rather pay $10 for a counter than spend an hour trying to implement a counter on a server that doesn't support SSH.

Any help?

When you open up your FTP there is a folder called "log".

Download the files in there.

Use a program called "Webalyzer" to read the log. (It's a pain in the ass to usem if you find a better program, please let me know.)

It will give you a full site report... how many hits you got, how many unique hits you've gotten, etc.

If you want an active homepage counter, you should probably just upgrade to the standard and use php.

It's only 5 bucks more, and the benefits are much better. If anything, the $5 is worth it to get email at that domain. If you can't spring for $5/year, perhaps you should reconsider having a website in the first place.
