I know there are a lot of website builders forums out there, any recommendations for one where someone might get friendly advice on things like parse errors, javascript issues and CSS problems?

Before you start learning advanced stuff, learn good indenting, markup, and practices. If you just dive in to it, you will mess everything up. Your code will look ugly and your website will function terribly. At first, don't bother making really pretty sites, just learn how things generally work. I reccomend you use 'htmldog', find it on google.
