Website based entirely on flash...

do you like them?? do you think they are implemented well in most cases? should i try one? should i use flash on specific parts only?

MIKE

it completely depends on the site. i have seen some nice sites done all in flash.

yet some other site with flash can be annoying.

My website is all flash...

Website

I like it, some people really hate it. If its a personal website, like mine, I say go for it! But if its a site for business or an organization then don't cause it will piss a lot of people off and youll probably lose business.

I believe business sites should never be entirely flashed based. Personal sites, do whatever you want.

But in general, thumbs down from me.

iirc, there is a way to detect wether or not the flash plugin is installed, and it allows you to load up each site independantly no??

Problem is when they start to add long animations, which may be neat the first time but after that forget it. It's sort of the like menus on some DVDs, where you need to wait for some stupid animation to happen before you can play the movie or even move to another menu.

I hate them also, though they're neat sometimes (for games). I don't have admin rights on my box @ work, so I can't install it. That makes some sites completely worthless.

if your domain name is homestarrunner.com, yes. Otherwise no.

If i'm prompted to pick i'll pick HTML 100% of the time.
