I have a friend who wants to sell stuff and thought about creating some website. I told him to look at free website places like yahoo and geocities. But, I thought "Is it legal to sell stuff from these sites?". I have no idea. He wants to sell food stuffs. Is there some leagality to this?

They probably have their TOS posted somewhere on their site.

FYI, Yahoo bought out GeoCities about a year ago.

I dunno about selling from there, but have you thought about the tax implications? I *think* there is a lower limit before you have to pay taxes but after that... is your friend really sure he wants to get into this?

whoa dude, i think youre gonna need your own domain and host, not to mention a hell of a lot of licensing. has your friend thought of the health regulations, not to mention occupational and business licensing. what about insurance? you'll need plenty of that in case something happens with a customer.

theres a lot to business, it just isnt making or selling stuff at a profit all the time.
