tried the repair command on my local area connection and clearing my browser's cache, but nothing....this is weird.

well, restarted my router, cable modem, and rebooted both my laptop and desktop.....and everything's finally working.

anyone know why somehting like this would randomly happen?

arg, it started happening again on my laptop. WTF is going on......has anyone experienced something similar so i at least know where to start troubleshooting?

cahnge your DNS servers

you mean change them at godaddy? i double checked them and they are correct. the problem seems to be that many people are getting the forums just fine. not sure why just i would get the error.

No, the DNS in your ip properties. It happens to me on any sites if they just registered the domain name and it needs to prograite around the world's dns server. If your having the problem you mentionwith www.xxx.com working and not xxx.com its usually your ISP servers DNS is behind the others in updating the list.
