hi all
does anyone have any info for doing webserver behind smc router + dynamic IP ?
please let me know. I remember someone mention before but i couldn't search for it. can not find it anyplace
 
so these are a step i need right

register for a domain name
signup with DSL/CABLE
then setup my nameserver
and that is about it right?

can i sign up with any domain name host or it have to be with domainmonger.com ?
 
Probably best to sign up with a host that allows you to change your records on the fly (such as zoneedit.com)
so incase your ip changes you can update almost instantly. i've been running my site this way on cable for several months now with no problems

oh.and zoneedit is also free which is nice

That depends whether you want to own your domain name, or just rent one.

I prefer to own my domain name, so I register it, and then I can do with it what ever I want. Owning a domain also means you have to pay a yearly fee as long as you own it ($15 ? $35) depends on whom you registered the domain with.

After you have a Domain name do what dnetmhz suggested
