Webroot security killed Internet connection

I installed the trial of webroot web security on my vista home machine. It scanned and killed off a few issues, but upon reboot I have no Internet connection. I'm on a dsl router with a wireless rioter which is working (posting from my iPad).

I have reset the address using ipconfig, but no luck. The network has been restarted, but no luck.

Tried shutting down the webroot service, notta.

What should I do next?

First thing you should do is open Webroot and undo whatever changes it made. Most of these types of programs, have such a feature, in case you screw things up. If you did not remove anything, then if this is the firewall portion, check it's settings. You may need to read the user guide and allow your web browser access to internet.

I checked everything I could check in regards to firewall, PC settings, network
Connection, to no avail. I ended up doing a system restore and that fixed it for now. I guess, in an obscure way, the webroot DID protect me FROM the web LOL.

Next question is:
Did you initially have some sort of problem, like a Virus or a Trojan ? ?
If you did and used System Restore, it may still be present. May want to start a thread in the Security section where you will be instructed on what scans to run and where to post logs for analysis.
Rule of thumb when dealing with Viruses:
Unless you are sure of what you are removing, get expert help. And when all else fails, be ready to reinstall or restore your backup image.
