hey, i was just checking on my site since spring break is over (www.dreamcastlives.com, link in sig), and i was getting ready to update and noticed that i was finnaly posted on google and lycos. the problem is that i seem to only be able to find it when i search for dreamcastlives. who is going to do that? maybe i shoulda made the title in the html dreamcast lives? or is it just that my site is on about page 22 when you search for dreamcast? it doesn't seem like it would help to be listed at all if you have to go that far back to view my site. any suggestions on getting a better listing on google?

i'm also trying to get it added to the directory at google, any tips? or tips in general for getting your name out? you guys might remember the site.

THere are literaly a billion links on the internet about how to improve your page rank at google. Most people seem to reason that Google works by referenced Links....so the more pages that use a link to reference your page for say, "Sorry Chineese Food", the higher up you'll be on Google's search.

One thing most people don't know is that Google is constantly rewrititng the logic for it's caching and indexing algorithm, in part to counter falsified page rankings, and also to make it better. The Google toolbar has it built in....But according to an article I read in Wired, (an interview with the two founders of Google).....their engine gets updated every month, and every month tehy do an entire web-crawl build.......

There's been more then one business who's ientire specialty was to improve your page rank at google based on keywords. Most of them are a sham, as all they do is create a bunch of junk web pages with the same link and link text to try and get google to improve it...at least that's what the article in Wired implied that the founders were saying.
