Webites that are hard to see

I'm noticing more and more websites that have text or links that show up as a light gray or off-white in Firefox, it's really hard to see the text at times.

Does anyone know a way to circumvent this problem? I can zoom into view the content, but i'm not sure if the issue is with Firefox or my eyes are just getting tired.

If they're sites you frequently use, you can recolor them with Stylish. Either download a sheet from someone else, or make your own. Otherwise, click and drag down to highlight the text. Oh, there's also the Colorific addon. You can theme any site, but it makes a flash from regular css to re-theme on page load. It's only a second, but kind of irritating, especially if you're frequently changing pages in that domain.

It seems to occur more and more on random websites. For example, look at the screenshot from empiretoday.com -- the bottom of the page in Firefox, Chrome and IE is really faint and hard to read. Ilxskllr- i'll try the addons, thanks.

Gotcha, I think this is due to attention. It has nothing to do with the browser, as IE does the same on the site listed. If you a visiting the site, they want you to notice ways to spend you money, not ways to contact them. But, they can still say the info is available on their site, just in light gray and on the very bottom.

Could be for shady reasons, but it seems to be the current style. Eye raping white backgrounds with muted text. I hate it. I can't tolerate bright pages for long periods, and will re theme sites/programs to make them darker.

We can thank the marketing department for this. I'll let you be the judge of "shady." When it comes to sales and marketing, anything but a direct lie is fair game.
