Weber Grills

That would depend on the model. Charcoal or gas? I've owned a few weber grills and smokers and they are sturdy and get the job done.
 
I'm looking at the genesis silver B propane grill. Sears has that one for 449, and they also have a kenmoore grill that is running 349. The kenmoore doesn't have any guage for telling how much propane is left. the weber does. the kenmoore also has more surface area to put things on the sides whereas the weber one side is taken up by knobs but they have the flap the lifts up. Also the weber seems to have better wheels on it and I move my grill alot so I wouldn't want the wheels to break.

I have a weber genesis with the gas range on the side of it. I think its definitely worth the investment. my steaks always come out tasting awsome

That kamado is funky. I'll stick with normal looking grills 🙂

kk in my 15+ years of owning various grills you never wind up using the burner, it's a waste except to the most die hard outdoor preparer.

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. All it would do is use up valuable space and get cruddy.

We have a weber grill and its awesome. I especially like the light in the handle, very handy for cooking in the dark 😀

Light in the Handle? Did they stop doing that? I haven't seen any with that.
 
We have that same Weber model you're considering. Before that, I had a cheap Sunbeam. The difference is like night and day. The Weber does a fantastic job. Highly recommended.
 
You talking Gas or Charcoal? I have a standard round weber charcoal grill that works great. However I also have a Kenmore gas grill that kicks major ass and was only like $150.

I think it's last years model of this grill.

Why do people spend like $500+ on a girll? This thing has Major cooking area, 3 racks, side burner, baskets and things to hang stuff, 35,000 BTU. What more could you possibly need?

 
If you read around on the internet, people are absolutely fanatical about weber grills.

I honestly can't decide if people like them that much, or if every relative of every weber employee goes online and posts about them. (which in all honestly, would not be unheard of)

I was all set to get one, but I wanted mostly if not all stainless, and I think the weber like that would have cost me like $600. I looked at them, but just couldn't easily see differences that made them worth that much more $$. I ended up getting a bigger stainless grill (Char Broil) at Lowes for $350. As far as I could tell, the biggest complaint issue with any of them was the design of the burners and then just overall construction... The one I got I'd say was a 6.5/10 on general construction but it did have solid cast brass burners which are supposed to be the best you can find. So far my only complaint on the one I got was that the three valves to control the burners are obviously pretty cheesy, they don't turn smoothly and just feel cheap.

I've used the char broil a few times since getting it and overall I'm happy with it... will just have to wait and see how long it lasts.
 
I have a weber kettle grill, and while nothing special about it, its more "rugged" than a cheapie kettle grill. Gets the job done like I expect it to😛

Yeah, I looked at lowes and their prices on their grills seemed pretty good. I'd probably end up getting one from there if I didn't have $400 in gift cards for sears.

Gas grill? Pffftt, might as well cook under your broiler in the house. I've got a Weber Smokey Joe, and full size Weber Kettle. Had a gas grill for about ten years, but it NEVER got used. The flavor is far better on the charcoal grill. If I spend good money for meat, there's no way it will ever go on a gas grill.
 
I've gone through all kinds of gas grills: Sunbeam, Charmglow, Kenmore. Then I got a Weber Genesis. The difference is night and day. Excellent construction, durable, and I don't have to keep replacing parts like grates, rocks, or burners every year. Oh yeah, the stuff I cook on it TASTES GREAT!!!
 
growing up my father used a webber all the time. i got to learn how to use it from him.

NOw i have a smokey joe and 2 full size webbers. The smokey joe is great when its just me and the wife. the full size are good when i have company over.

seen a nice charcoal grill on "good eats" that i like. about $300 dollers. might look into it when we move (planning on moving this summer)
 
Well I ended up getting the Weber from Sears for $399 using those 20% off gift cards, so it'd come out to around 350 after taxes. Now time to get some steaks. :beer:
