Dont need anything extravanant. Just basic Videophone type stuff. I know theres some real crap out there, hoping you guys can let me know what to stay away from and what to look into.
 
If you have a PS2 console, get an eyetoy. they work pretty well for computer once you get the tweaked drivers; plus, you can play games with it.
 
If you just want occasional use and have a digital camera, you might be able to use it as a webcam. I can do that with my Fuji FinePix 2650, by going into the camera menu and setting it for PC Cam mode.
 
quick cam 5000 is the best in my opinion, I have one and it works beautifuly. Plus the picture is real clear, never used it as a digital camera though. It also will mount to a LCD or CRT monitor.
 
I am happy with my Creative Live! Pro It is very crispy clear I use it for videophone only nothing else.
