I see so many kinds of webcams made by logitech.
For its price, is it really worth getting them?

Some of its specs look alike compared to creative or other brands..

If they are good at it,
Which model would you guys suggest getting for a notebook?
I will like to emphasize on picture clarity and good resolution.

Budget well..i could invest up to $80 if its a good one.

the logitech fusion i bought from newegg @ $80+shipping sucked. the face tracking was useless and the quality was just plain bad. wait for high standard MP ratings from webcams to come out (above 1.3MP)

Its funny. Webcams have been out for YEARS, I even beta tested the first company that made em. Which Logitech bought out years ago, and the quality has really not improved in 10 years or so. IMO, they are all pretty bad. I use an old video camera connected to my PC for "webcam" stuff.

Gee, my opinion is kinda different than the last two posters.

I have a Logitech Fusion and I think it's pretty good. It's also the first webcam I've OWNED (not USED).

In low light, all webcams suck, the Fusion included. But with the light on in the room and me just sitting there talking it works great.

"The face tracking software sucks!" What the hell do you want for your $90 or whatever? A little 1" tall gnome camera dude to jump behind the webcam and follow your mug as you breakdance around the room?

I too tried the software and if I move around in the chair s-l-o-w-l-y it works fine...otherwise it sucks. Aaaaaaannnnnnd? See "gnome camera man" comment above!

It's a webcam. It takes video/audio and stills and sends them over the lovely internet or saves it to your HD. The software (i downloaded the latest from the Logitech website...the software on the CD was 7 months old!) installed the first time and gave me no probs.

I ALWAYS reboot after EVERY software install. I've been using Windows since 3.1 and even now it's a good idea. I've had ZERO problems since installing/using the camera.

My two cents.

ps
I have a nice DV camcorder and a prosumer video editing software package; I used it to shoot video...not to take webcam videos that I think my little webcam should be able to do.

pps
"Why can't my webcam shoot DV in 7.1 Dolby Surround? I hate {insert webcam company}!!!!!!"

for $90 i'd expect the camera to be able to do its "special features" well. any $25 webcam can take 1.3mp pics and any $25 webcam can record video @ 640x480.

In the latest MaximumPC issue (June 2007, Page 30) they gave the Logitech QuickCam Orbit high praise. If that means anything to people.

I've had a Fusion for months now and it works very well. I'm currently using it with Vista Ultimate and it works nicely with that too. I like Logitech because of their great warranty. I previously had a QuickCam Pro. 4000. When that died they sent me this Fusion.

Seems like many go for the fusion currently but have mix feelings about the webcam.

I see alot of this in retail shops :-

QuickCam for Notebooks
