Webcam/setup to record myself sleeping?

A while back I got a Logitech Quickcam Web to play around with and see if I could come up with a use for it. I couldn't, and returned it. While I had it though, I remembered that I wanted to try to record myself sleeping a few nights. (I used to sleepwalk a lot, and I still talk in my sleep a lot. I want to see what I do when asleep.)

I tried to do it with the Quickcam, but it was the crappy CMOS sensor type, not CCD, and didn't pick up good images, and low light was just horrible, let alone total darkness.

Is there a particular type of camera that would be good for this sort of thing? The images don't have to be terrific, as long as I can see what I'm doing (part of this is I want to see how much I move around at night; I seem to always wake up in the same position I fell asleep in; except if I do move around, I wake up when I do it). I could just connect a microphone and set it beside my bed to record any noises, but I do want to get video of it too.

Of course, I would also like to have decent video just for the use of a camera for other things. But I don't want to buy a multi-hundred dollar superduper cam or anything.

Along with what type of camera, any guesses on how much light might be needed? I think I could handle having a nightlight turned on, but full light probably would just annoy me (though I can fall asleep in full light as easily as darkness usually). Plus, due to my work schedule, I usually am not in bed until 3 or 4AM, so sunlight starts to come in the windows pretty soon after I go to sleep.

I'm really curious to know too...i've always wanted to record what I do in my sleep. All I know is that I move around a lot and end up in weird positions. If anybody has any suggestions, post them!

My last g/f told me I had entire conversations in my sleep and would flail around wildly.

Why not just go rent a cheap 8mm camcorder? Will work in extremely low light, and record for quite a few hours.

Hey I always wanted to do that too! If you're planning on recording yourself for that long a strach with a webcam, I'm guessing you're gonna need a lot of Hard Drive Space! No clue how much though...

Well, webcam bandwidth is very low, I think getting decent audio would probably take up more drive space (unless it's encoded to MP3 on the fly).

I dunno where to rent a video camera though.
