A Client has come up with an interesting request.

Basically, they have a normal webcam attached to their secondary server machine and they want it to:

i) Either come on and record at certain periods OR be activated by movement in the server room.

ii) They also want the option of having the server shutting down automatically each evening.

What software would be needed for this? is it possible? The secondary server is Windows 2000 Pro.....does it need specific hardware?

Cheers,

Corm

I think you can shut down a server with Win2k's built in Terminal services. I know very little about that though, so I could be wrong.

As far as the webcam thing, check out Webcam32. I don't think it does motion activated capture (its possible but I doubt it), but you can set it to upload/save a picture every X amount of seconds.
