webcam for home while at work

Anyone do this for a pet or perhaps a baby ?

I used to do it but it involved webcam32 software and some java magic that was a PITA to setup. Anything easier these days ? It should be streaming... (I already know how to do an X seconds snapshot upload to FTP).

I knew I should've explained it... mom could be at home and you could still look in once in a while... that's how the previous owners of this house had it setup... he was away on business a lot too.

Yes I have as a security cam. Just used windows media encoder to capture.

ironically i'm always at home and she's the one at work. I'm just looking for an easy solution here guys... it's not even for us.

i dunno if its the best way but an "easy" was it to create a flash media server (free for dev) on your home machine and create a flash app with video....

I recall there being some freeware software called Fwink or something like that that captured an image from an attached video device (webcam, video capture card, scanner, whatever), and uploaded it to an FTP site at specified intervals. I gaurantee there are other free solutions for it as well. All you need is an FTP site 😉
I think the fastest I got it to do was 20 second interval captures (this gave it time to connect and upload before starting the process again).
