okay... so i've got my webcam. (xirlink pc camera maybe... all i know is that it was free)
anyway, i wanted to do live broadcasting through comrades.com, but for some reason, i'm guesing becuase of my school's firewall.. Only people on my campus are able to view it. How can i set it up so that anybody can view it.. even people outside of my campus. The address is http://1005101587.camarades.com/, let me know if it does work for you. I really want to get this figured out. How can i get around this firewall.. assuming that is the problem?

thanks in advance

haha i was having this same problem myself. I tested a lot of different services including the one that you are talking about.........and i didn't really like any of them.l if you want my opinion, you should use Webcam123, which can be downloaded from www.download.com. it is a trial but it works well. there are a lot of things you can do if you mess around with the program. i had a page that was streaming 320x240, but it limits 2 hours of streaming at a time and my trial ran out.

that was just a suggestion. but back to your problem. i was broadcasting from school and didn't seem to have any problem, but i don't know what school you go to. i am at ucla. i seriously DOUBT that is the problem though since you are sending data to the website, but you never know.

what do the people off campus see when they try to view it? i see a white screen. is that what they see too? well i am sure there is something we can figure out so let me know. but like i said, if that fails you can just try different software, like webcam123. Teveo LIve was another good program, i think it was actually a lot like the camrades one, and that also worked for me. They all allow for a bigger stream too. well hope you get it figured out.

i'll look into the webcam123 thing

i've tried teveo.. it has the same problem.
people off campus just get the webpage and a blackscreen where the image should be. Everybody who views it from a computer hooked up to the campus network seems to be able to veiw it without problems though.

i'm going to go download that program now to see if it solves my problem.
