As the title goes - I'm looking for a site that keeps track of video game sales. The reason I'm not content with vgchartz is, as you might have guessed, that they don't account for digital distribution which, basically, means that the sales figures for PCs is misleading and totally worthless.

Valve doesn't release Steam sales figures to anyone AFAIK, and Steam makes up a huge chunk of digital sales.

^What about the publishers/developers of each individual game sold on Steam? Any word from any of them?

Also, if Steam does not like to release sales figures, then they are doing a big disservice to the PC market, which is their bread and butter; By not contributing to the accurate image of how PC games fare on the market and, in effect, allowing it to seem much smaller due to less than half of PG games being sold as retail, they basically tell potential costumers that their medium (PC games) is dying and is not worth perusing anymore, which may lead them to switch to consoles...

Is there a reason they are doing this for? Covering for game publishers/developers when their game performs poorly on the market maybe?

edit:

Hmm ... found this:

Sounds like a bunch of bull%#*$ and chips to me. But I digress... If they think it serves their business well (which I doubt) then they're going to do what they think they have to do.
