Recently web pages on my computer have been very slow to load. I have a Sprint Broadband connection that over the past 2 years has been very, very fast. The other computers on my network are not having any problems. This computer is a Dell 400SC 3.2ghz, 1.0gb ram, 9800ATI AGP, 40/200 HD's, XP Pro SP1>2. Both HD's are about 75% full. I can download files from the Newsgroups very fast, so I figure that the slowness has to do something with this computer.

Even my mouse sometimes hangs a little as I move it across the screen.

Any programs that can check to see what the issue is?

Any suggestions

It may have some spyware stuck to it. Check out Schadenfroh's anti-virus/anti-spyware guide here and follow the instructions.

Shortcut first suggestion: install and update Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3, and have it do a scan to see if it finds anything major.
