Web pages and Win XP Pro

Every since moving to XP from ME, I have problems getting certain webpage to load, including one of my daughters hotmail accounts. Never had the problem in ME, and no problems with the pages using NT 4.0 at work. Simply get a "The page cannot be displayed", check network settings, etc. Cleaning the cache doesn't help. Also have one page (candystand.com) that just comes up totally blank. Any suggestions?

Try: internet options..........advanced.............turn on http 1.1 turn on java and ssl2.0/ssl 3.0/tsl 1.0
and download virtual machine and install it.
if that doesen`t help check the security settings and the privacy
