Web page update problem

I put online my web page. After I update my web page, I loaded my web page online with my Explorer 6.0 and I saw that the update was not there. So, I reload again and again and the page update don't appeared. Then, I tried to load the page online with Netscape and my update appeared!. Then, I delete all the files in the cache of Internet Explorer and my update appeared with Explorer but, when I made another update, I did not see this new update with Explorer. The only thing I saw was my old update.

What's going on! Is it a bug of Explorer 6.0? Please help me! Thanks to anybody who will help me.

How are you reloading in IE 6.0? By just pressing the REFRESH button? If so, you are reloading a cached page. Which means that you will continue to see your pre-updated pages. When you cleared your cache and hit REFRESH, a new copy is cached. To ensure that you do not refresh using a cached copy try doing SHIFT-REFRESH or CTRL-REFRESH. That is, hold down either the SHIFT or the CTRL key's while pressing REFRESH, this will get you a new copy.

Furthermore, you can also set a META tag in the HTML file so that it is noc cached and as such new copies are gotten by just the REFRESH button..Regards

I don't have Explorer 6 on this system, so I couldn't tell you exactly where, but in the program options there is a setting to update web pages every time they are visited, once per day, or only when changes are detected. If you are set at once per day, you won't see any new changes until the next day...I usually leave this setting at 'once per visit' to avoid the problem you are describing.

But, there is something I don't understand... When I go on Anandtech or in other web sites, when I arrive in the site I see the update of the site. But, when I arrive in my site, I don't see the update! I have to press CRTL-Reload to see the update. Can you explain that?

Also, how can I put a meta tag in my page? And why does putting a meta will make update my page correctly?

Thanks for your answer!
