I've been using a local provider as my web/mail host for a number of years. Unfortunately, they are implementing new price points that are unattractive for my needs. So, I'm looking for a replacement this month.
Primary needs are:
- placeholder for web host (I don't use it)
- POP and IMAP mail server for my domain to support 10 or so addresses and a few hundred aliases off of the postmaster address
- easy to use toolset, high uptime, reasonable customer service.
I've seen recommendations elsewhere for a small orange and lithium hosting. Any feedback to these to or any others?
Also, sometime after I move my hosting, I'll be transferring to a new domain registrar. name cheap is one that comes to mind. Need one that also adds privacy protection (hides my contact info from spammers) for a reasonable price. Any other recommendations?
