For those of you that own domain names, who do you use for your web host? What kind of bandwidth does your site use? Overall are you happy with your service? How many emails, ftp logins, etc do you get with your service? And last of all, does it cost you an arm and a leg? :D

I use FluidHosting.com because they are very reliable and the support is awesome. It costs a little more than the el cheapo hosting services but it is well worth it.

Everyone here raves about dixiesys.com and I am seriously considering signing up with them before their 2 for 1 sale is over.

Dixiesys looks like they have decent pricing for web hosting. Anyone know how they are for reliability?

My web server is in my living room. Doesn't cost me a dime after the hardware's been purchased (well, electricity maybe.) And owning the server, I have COMPLETE control over the content.

Complete control? Doesn't your ISP have a TOS about what you can and cannot host? What ISP do you use?

bsdwebhosting.net is a very interesting concept! I like that. Only accepting paypal stinks though. otherwise pretty cool!

I have four domains hosted with them...had a problem once, called Gary, he was aware of the problem and in the middle of fixing it. Highly recommended!!!

Thanks for the input. Any idea what kind of client-base dixiesys has?

Well, I suppose... if you wanna get technical about it.

Actually, I'm not even supposed to be hosting any servers at all. Enforcement of the TOS is, shall we say, somewhat lax.

I have three sites with DixieSys.com, love them but I've been concerned about their uptime.

Thinking about getting another DixieSys.com hosting account or two (before their 2 for 1 special ends soon) or getting an account with Manlius.com they cost a little more but everyone seems to be really happy with their service.

I'm currently with Dixiesys but just signed up recently with a webhosting special at Manlius. I've been putting up the finishing touches on a redesign and will probably move everything over in a few weeks.

I've been with Dixiesys since around the beginning of the year and while I've had no problems with them, their support turnaround time and uptime have been a little less than stellar as of recent. Gary Harris (the person behind Dixiesys) seems like a honest and hard-working individual though, so I've mostly attributed those things to growing pains since they've had 2-for-1 specials lately and an influx of Cyberwings refugees. Overall though I'd say I've been happy with them, especially for the amount I paid ($39.50/yr).

I was considering upgrading to a 2-for-1 plan with Dixiesys this past week, and stumbled on a webhosting special from Manlius while browsing Hot Deals. After comparing the two I ended up jumping aboard with Manlius - the plan I got in on was a better value, they offer SSH access and allow you to run irc and stuff, and they remind me somewhat of Dixiesys in their early days. Support so far from Manlius has been great - less than 20 minutes from payment to account setup, and less than 50 minutes for a response to a support ticket around mid-day.

Either way I don't think you could go wrong with either of these two IMO. They both offer plenty of features and space for the price.

Netacore.com, no complaints, good service. 50 FTP, 50 Emails, 50 sub-domains, 10 databases, 10 GB bandwidth and all for $5/month :) for..... 250 MB space.
