Looking at different web hosting services, and while they all specify "X Gb bandwidth" they don't say over what period of time. Is that per year? Per month?

It's per month.

1st to the last day of the month.

So on August 1, 2004 your bandwidth will be reset.

Thanks. It just amazed me that none of the ones I looked at ever specified the time period. I guess that's an industry standard and people just know.

Which web hosts have you checked out?

Is this for a personal or business web site?

per month. There are some among us who can host your site for a reasonable price... like rossman, devioustrap, etc.

The reason for my confusion is I had seen some services advertising a yearly cost, and some monthly, but none of them ever specified the duration for the bandwidth. For example, one place has a $15/year plan. It includes 200mb disk space and 4GB bandwidth. Since the price is per year, I couldn't tell if the 4GB was also per year. It doesn't say.

This is for a group I'm involved with that wants to do a site like pics.bbzzdd.com where members can post photos for discussion (and hopefully keep people from using it as a hosting site for ebay auction photos). I guess that would be a personal site.

That should be very easy to do using .htaccess

If you're looking for some web host recommendations, please don't hesitate to ask. We will need to know your budget, and disk space/bandwidth needs.
