Current webhost apparently made some upgrades and now I can't access anything (site, cpanel, wp-admin) from my home TWC internet connection, but my ATT smartphone works fine. Also getting reports from friends/clients/potential employers that the site is down. Tech support has been less than helpful, and this is exceptionally bad timing. So thinking of moving everything.

who's good these days? I currently have a 10 GB/100GB plan and don't come close to using it all.

I've been with pair Networks for a decade and a half and highly recommend them. Not the cheapest, I am sure, but very good people and very good service.

MadGenius? I hope this isn't the same company that I once knew of as being associated with a weird doomer website. Probably isn't if anyone is recommending it. :)

Anybody use A Small Orange? I can walk to their HQ if I have trouble, and get a donut muffin on the way.

ASO used to have a good reputation but then something went wrong.

Hmmn I found a bunch of negative reviews but they're mostly from 2008-2009. It's been relatively quiet since then.

Are you looking for a reputable solid web host that is reliable with real 24/7 support or cheap? Pick one, you can't have both.

How much resources (disk/bandwidth) do you actually use (not want)?

What's your monthly budget?

Do you have a preferred server location (Seattle, LA, New York, Chicago, Miami, etc.)? Where is your hosting audience?

Are you happy with cPanel, would you consider a better control panel like DirectAdmin?
